ABOUT US
"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Salem Baptist Church exists to glorify God.
VISION STATEMENT
To Glorify God:
-
by leading people to know Him through faithful, accurate expository preaching of the whole counsel of God found only in the inspired and infallible Word of God (the Bible).
-
by leading people into appropriate biblically acceptable forms of worship.
-
by equipping church membership for biblically accurate evangelism and discipleship.
-
by investing a significant portion of the money God gives us stewardship over in missions locally and across the world.
-
by loving brothers and sisters in the Lord with a love that will promote unity in the Church and elicit favorable thoughts of Christ in the watching world.
-
by obeying the commands of the Lord Jesus in faithful biblical observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
-
by teaching and engaging in a culture of biblical service to believers and unbelievers as well which would include loving our neighbors regardless of who they are.
LIMITED STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
We affirm:
-
the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God as the final authority on our faith and practice.
-
and voluntarily subscribe to the doctrinal statements given in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (http://www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp)
Furthermore, we affirm:
-
the validity of the gospel of Jesus Christ as open and available to all people.
-
the claim of Jesus Christ that He is the only way to be reconciled to God.
-
salvation is not by any work of man, but by grace alone, through faith alone.
-
that all mankind will be resurrected, some to a resurrection of life, and some to resurrection of punishment
-
the orthodox biblical position on human sexuality and marriage.
