"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Salem Baptist Church exists to glorify God.

To Glorify God:

  1. by leading people to know Him through faithful, accurate expository preaching of the whole counsel of God found only in the inspired and infallible Word of God (the Bible).

  2. by leading people into appropriate biblically acceptable forms of worship.

  3. by equipping church membership for biblically accurate evangelism and discipleship.

  4. by investing a significant portion of the money God gives us stewardship over in missions locally and across the world.

  5. by loving brothers and sisters in the Lord with a love that will promote unity in the Church and elicit favorable thoughts of Christ in the watching world.

  6. by obeying the commands of the Lord Jesus in faithful biblical observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

  7. by teaching and engaging in a culture of biblical service to believers and unbelievers as well which would include loving our neighbors regardless of who they are.

We affirm:

  1. the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God as the final authority on our faith and practice.

  2. and voluntarily subscribe to the doctrinal statements given in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (

Furthermore, we affirm:

  1. the validity of the gospel of Jesus Christ as open and available to all people.

  2. the claim of Jesus Christ that He is the only way to be reconciled to God.

  3. salvation is not by any work of man, but by grace alone, through faith alone.

  4. that all mankind will be resurrected, some to a resurrection of life, and some to resurrection of punishment

  5. the orthodox biblical position on human sexuality and marriage.
